Sample project
Odisha Darshan
A heritage and pilgrim guide app with offline temple-circuit maps, AR point-and-learn on monuments, audio guides and a QR ticket wallet.
Highlights
What it does
- Offline temple-circuit maps for Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar
- AR point-and-learn: aim the camera at a monument to see its story
- Audio guide in Odia, Hindi and English
- QR ticket wallet
- Saved itineraries and nearby facilities
Stack
Built with
- React Native
- TypeScript
- SQLite (offline)
- Mapbox
- ViroReact AR
Challenge
The problem
Visitors to heritage sites often have patchy mobile coverage and no local guide, and queues at ticket counters waste hours of a short trip.
Solution
What we built
We bundled maps, stories and audio for each circuit so the app works fully offline after one download, and added a QR wallet so tickets open at the gate without a data connection.
Results
Outcome
- 12,400 downloads in the first 90 days
- 4.6 average store rating
- Roughly 38% of visitors used the audio guide
- Core features work without a connection
